Seirian (“Say-ree-an”) (he/him) is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and musician,
based in London. He has performed with Balletboyz, Punchdrunk, and Phoenix Dance Theatre, as well as a multitude of freelance, independent, and self-led projects. Seirian studied at Rambert School and since graduating, has build his movement and teaching practice Gravity Mechanics from his experience in a plethora of physical forms including contemporary dance styles, improvisational techniques, tricking, ballet, acrobatics, Ju- jitsu, Aikido, breakdance, Capoeira, parkour, and various circus disciplines.

Gravity Mechanics
Seirian's movement and teaching practice is constantly evolving, and is led by his personal explorations which are based around learning to efficiently and effectively harness the natural momentum and fluidity present within the body's structure. Built from the ground up, the foundations are formed through functional mobility, co-ordination, and harnessing strength without tension. Through methodically explored progressions, the body is gradually introduced safely to unfamiliar alignments and orientations using patterns present within acrobatics, breaking, and floorwork. The intention is to weave a 360 degree awareness which allows access to an ever increasing network of pathways for the body to exist in. Improvisation and choreography are the applications of these created options, quieting the conscious mind to connect with a deeper integration of physicality, moving towards unrestricted self-expression, enjoyment, and exploration. The practice looks at understanding and ultimately honing our decision-making processes, to find an awareness and harmony with the habits and information the body carries, and allowing the subconscious to be processed physically.
Teaching
Seirian has experience sharing his practice and teaching classes internationally for multiple different projects and companies, including BalletBoyz, Punchdrunk, Phoenix Dance Theatre, and NYDC among others, as well as his own independently run workshops and intensives in London and around the UK.
